     MECA's Goals    
   

·        Establishment of a framework for widespread participation of principals, teachers and students in educational programs that encourage tolerance, mutual respect and open dialogue.

·        Creation of a professional-based component of the Palestinian-Israeli dialogue, on the basis of interpersonal relationships and a forum of honest, open communication between individuals.

 

·        Active, ongoing involvement in the development of educational materials from preschool through twelfth grade, in math, human rights, history, literature, music and arts, languages, non-violence and additional educational topics and fields. 

   

·        Advancement of the role of educators throughout the region as promoters of a culture of peace and tolerance.

 
 

·        Creation of a model organization of Palestinians and Israelis that upholds the importance of equal participation, equal decision making, and equal governing to assure that the sensitivities and perspectives of both sides are recognized and taken into account.

 
 

·        Inclusion of an educational task force and              educational supervision to implement

       necessary changes in curriculum and

       textbooks to encourage promotion of the

       values of peace, tolerance and coexistence of

       both sides in the event of a peace agreement.
